Running Injuries

New to running, or aiming for a bigger distance, a PB, or a seasoned Ultra Runner?

Putting extra demand on an unprepared body can lead to it protesting with niggles. These settle themselves if the body can adapt. It’s rare to add something new and to not notice it.

If the problem persists or deteriorates it’s important to get it checked out. It can put a full stop on your training.

Main questions to be answered –

What is it? – If you know what it is, it saves you worry and incorrect advice from Dr Google that can prolong or worsen a condition. What worked for a friend may be detrimental to you.

My correct questioning, testing and years of experience mean we can form a plan for you. I will tell you the truth, explain the injury and treatment plan and you’ll understand the reason why we’re doing what we’re doing.

I know the struggles. I completely understand. I’ve run for a very long time and had plenty of whinjuries, completed a Half Ironman and also completely ignored my own physio advice.  People run and exercise because it’s for mental health, sociability, obsession, a personal challenge, a training plan, weight control…. Because you woke up and had a great idea….

A physio who understands running and exercise can adapt what you’re doing rather than just saying rest.
